Oakland Home Occupation Permit

Oakland's Planning Code permits home occupations as accessory uses in residential districts subject to conditions. The business must be clearly secondary to the residential use, must not employ non-residents working on the premises, and must not generate exterior evidence of commercial activity. A Home Occupation Permit must be obtained from the Bureau of Planning before operating a home-based business.
